Choir History

The Victoria Male Voice Choir has its roots dating back to the 1930's. However, formal choir activity was suspended during WWII and althought some singing did take place, it was not until 1979 that a serious effort was made to formally reconstitute the choir with Bert Storer becoming the Musical Director. The choir performs 12-15 concerts a year in Churches, Senior's Centres and Service Clubs. It has performed at the McPherson Theatre, the Empress Hotel, the Victoria Convention Centre, the UVIC Auditorium and many other locations through the years, in Victoria and out of town. The choir also participated in many choir festivals and competitions.
