Ben Sheets held River Sloths to 3 hits at Olympus Park as the Titans team beat
the River Sloths ballclub by the count of 2 to 1.
Titans had 2 runs cross the plate in the bottom of the 6th inning. After two
were out Hideki Matsui opened up the rally as he drew a walk. Jim Edmonds
stepped into the batter's box and he popped a two-run clout over the fence
(his 5th of the season). Titans finished with just 2 hits in the victory.
Sheets(4-1), allowing 1 run for the game, picked up the victory. Brad
Penny(0-1) absorbed the loss. He gave up just 2 runs and 2 hits in 8
innings.
Bob James was asked about the performance of Sheets, 'He had his good stuff
out there tonight. The fans really get into it when the strikeouts start
mounting up - and that seems to give him even more adrenalin.'
