Scott Rolen touched them all and had 2 RBI and Jeff Weaver took a no-hitter
into the 7th inning at Glistening Meadows as the River Sloths ballclub beat
the Glitter club 7 to 0.
Weaver(1-0) was simply too much for the Glitter batters. He didn't give up
much, just 2 hits and no walks in 9 innings. The right-handed Weaver lost
his chance for a no-hitter when Victor Martinez doubled with two outs in the
7th inning. River Sloths had 11 hits for the afternoon.
Bartolo Colon(0-1) took the loss. He was unable to control the River Sloths
offense and allowed 8 hits and 2 walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.
