The score was knotted at 1 after nine innings. Finally, Stingrays pulled the game out in the 13th inning. After an out was recorded, Chavez delivered a solo blast (his 1st of the season) making Stingrays victorious to the delight of the the home town crowd. Stingrays finished with just 6 hits in the victory. Kiko Calero(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 inning and allowing no runs. Bob Wickman(0-1) was hit with the loss in relief.
