Teams remain eligible to draft in each round, as long as their team roster contains fewer then 36 players. Free Agent/Rookie drafts will proceed in a straight fashion (1-8, 1-8, est.) Draft position will be determined by each team's record in the previous season, from worst to best. Draft position for teams with identical records, from the previous season, will be determined by head to head record. If a tie is present, Refer to tie breaker rules on page 4.Playoff teams will draft in spot 9-12 per record and playoff results. Teams will retain full rights to any player that they draft, until that team either trades, or releases that player. Only 16 MLB teams will be used in the CDDL draft. MLB teams are, AL: Cleveland, Seattle, Oakland, Yankees, Tampa Bay, Baltimore, Chicago Sox, Anaheim NL: Atlanta, Houston, San Francisco, Arizona, Chicago Cubs, Brewers, St. Loius, Los Angeles. TEAMS Immediately upon completion of the Free Agent/Rookie draft, the team roster limits of 35 max. - 25 players that are of the current requirements (175 ABs, 100 IPs for starters, 45 IPs for relievers), plus 10 players with no minimums to make up a minor leagues for each respective team..1 player is IR. Can be either a picther or a batter. These players could only be used in case of injury. Players drafted must be carded with one of the "draftable teams" (see DRAFTS section, under league rules) to be eligible for the CDDL draft. Team rosters consist of an Active Roster and an Minor league roster. Active rosters are limited to 25 max. Active rosters MUST contain a minimum of 5 pitchers who are eligible to start (must be rated as a Starter or Starter/Reliever with a minimum of 3 + games started listed on their card). If a team owns full rights to a player, and that player does not receive a "card" in the future, the team still retains the rights to that player, until released or traded. These non-"carded" players will still count against the team's 35-man roster limit. Teams are not forced to draft a player below the minimums for those 10 extra roster spots, and if so chooses to draft a player that meets the minimums, can bring him up or send him down at anytime prior to a series, but not in-between games of a series. Active rosters must never be above 25. Tired Pitchers cannot be sent down at anytime. If a hitter is injuried, a pitcher can be "brought up" and visa versa. Teams can bring any player up from their 35-man roster in the event of injury to another player, as long as injury is greater than 2 games. (spirit of the rule, if Jeter gets hit on the hand and is going to miss 2 games in a series with the Yanks, they are not going to put him on the injured reserve and bring up someone else). Once the player returns from injury, the player that was brought up must be returned to the minor leagues if said player is below the qualifying requirements. You can bring a qualified drafted player up from the minors at any time during a series or in-between games. Injury Rules still apply. The “Jeter 2 game rule” |
