Inside the Tabernacle

When God gave instructions to Moses concerning the tabernacle, He had three distinct purposes in mind.

1. God planned to dwell in the midst of Israel 2. To teach man the holiness of God and the sinfulness of mankind 3.To show sinful man the only way of salvation.

Heb.9:24 For Christ did not enter a man-made sanctuary that was only a copy of the true one; he entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in God's presence.

In the Most Holy Place was the ark containing the Ten Commandments which revealed His holy standards. A thick viel separated the Most Holy Place for the Holy Place.

In the Holy Place were the table of shewbread - Jesus said "I am the bread of life"

the candlestick of pure gold - "I am the light of the world".The altar of incense which is associated with the prayer. Another veil separated the Holy Place from the outer court.

In the outer court was the laver, a large container of water for cleansing - representing the Word of God.

EPH 5:26 ...to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word,

JN 15:1 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.

Also the bronze altar which the sacrifices were made. This altar represents the sacrifice of Christ.

HEB 10:11 Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God.

The outer court was veiled off from the outside world by a curtain gate.

Jacob prophesies regarding Judah

GE 49:10 The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler's staff from between his feet, until he comes to whom it belongs and the obedience of the nations is his.
