In my Personal series of Hip and Knee Replacements since 1996 to-date as Consultant, only 3 patients have developed early deep infection as a complication in 11.5 years and NO patient has developed any early post-op MRSA infection of the artificial joint .
I have published my personal results of Total Hip Replacement surgery in the British Journal of Bone & Jt. Surgery in 2005 which showed a 100% survivorship of the artificial joint at 9 years for aseptic loosening.
My personal results of Total Knee Replacement surgery have been recently published in Acta Orthopaedica Belgica in 2007 which showed a 99.4% survivorship of the artificial joint at 9 years.
I have recently published the results of my own Personal technique of Bunion Surgery in the American Journal of Foot & Ankle Surgery showing 96% good results.
Prof. Sir John Charnley introduced the present day successful Hip Replacement operation to the world in the early 1960's at Wrightington Hospital.
I did my basic Orthopaedic Training in Bombay, India at the King Edward Memorial Hospital (University of Bombay) and was a Lecturer in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University Hospital before coming to U.K.
I trained in U.K. as a Registrar in Orthopaedics at Oswestry on a 3 year rotation. My Senior Registrar Rotation was at Birmingham working at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham and the Coventry DGH.
