Basic Electricity

In India most of the Electrical/Electronics devices work in the 230 VAC supply provided by the electrical department.internally the circuit in  most of the electronic equipments works on DC supply. The external AC supply is converted in to DC supply by the power supply provided on these equipments.

AC/DC Supply

We have talked about DC and AC currents, let us briefly see what is the difference between these two types of current.

In the DC or Direct Current the flow of electron through conductor takes place in one direction only.

In the AC or Alternating Current, the electrons flows through the conductor in one direction and then it changes direction and start to flow in reverse direction.

In AC supply ,with the time ,the current starts from zero and reach highest value, before returning back to zero. After reaching zero ,it goes to maximum value in reverse directionand the rise back tozero. This cycle keep repeating itself.
