As you might've guessed, I've finally decided to give up maintaining this page. I enjoyed doing it but with recent world events, and with an even clearer understanding of the media's culpability in a lot of what's been going on, I guess my heart's just not in it anymore. In fact, I'm pretty much swearing off TV. Oh, I'll still watch Buffy and The Sopranos and the last season of Farscape, but I'll not be getting 'hooked' on any more shows. I've found that the TV is way too much of a sedative. I'll get home, totally stressed out, turn on the TV and hit the 'zone' and I'll not get anything else accomplished for the rest of the night. That CAN'T be a good thing. Sure, I've worked with the TV on and I've cleaned with the TV on, it's not impossible, but it's very distracting. Besides, the

propaganda spewing out of the 'news' programs is getting intolerable. I used to just mutter to myself when Dan Rather would say something ridiculous. Now, I'm out-and-out screaming at the TV and THAT'S just not healthy. I'll be keeping up my rant page. Mostly because it's cathartic, but also because my email list just can't handle all of my emails of interesting articles. So, localizing it on one page keeps me from getting yelled at. I know many of you linked here via Bartcop E! so I'm assuming you'll agree with me when I say the following:

It's time for us to turn off our TVs, get off our fat duffs and do something about what's going on in this world. Stop being passive observers and start being aggressive participants. Don't let the assholes win.
