Multi-Racing Championship FAQ

Lets face it, Multi Racing Championship is a cinch to beat with the right car and configuration. I beat MRC within 2 days and that is relatively slow compared to a lot of you. I have tried all of the cars but have not configured all of them so my interpretation may be somewhat different than yours. If this is the case than don’t hesitate to send in your own MRC strategy guide to rival mine. This guide is extremely short when compared to other guides due to the simplicity and ease of completing this game; therefore, do not hesitate reading through this strategy guide if you are having trouble completing MRC. Now that we have that out of the way lets get down to it.

Cars and Configuration:

I have found that the best car to use in MRC is the Jeep, also known as the Kingroader Toyohata. The reason for this is that the Jeep seems to have the tightest steering without losing control and spinning out or sliding. Another reason why I like the Jeep in MRC the most is the fact that the dirt or gravel roads seem to be either easier to drive on or shorter.

The configuration that I use for the Jeep is as follows:

Courses:

The strategy for getting the best times on all of the courses is basically the same, go off-road with your Jeep and take as many shortcuts as possible. On certain courses you may have to go other ways and I will point those out to you when we reach them.

Sea Side: The most basic course in MRC is also the easiest to master. Just follow the instructions I gave you, use the Jeep and go on the dirt and gravel roads. This is basically the key to beating this course, pretty simple.

Mountain: Even though this course is in the middle in difficulty level, it is still the hardest to get medals on and is usually the last to be completed. This is because of the lack of shortcuts combined with the difficulty terrain and complex turns. The key to beating this course is once again to go on the dirt, gravel, or snow covered roads using the Jeep. Be careful however, when on the final Match Race, the opposing car will travel the exact same route and the two cars will be in very close quarters. Whatever you do, don't try to ram the other car, this will usually result in you losing control and losing the race. To win on mountain, you must have a virtually flawless race, and must also continuously be cutting off your opponent. If you cut off your opponent and they ram you from behind, the force will send you flying forward at incredible speeds. Even by following these instructions, the chances of winning are still in your hands, don’t give up.

Downtown: This course is relatively simple, the key concept is the same, go down the grave and dirt roads using the Jeep. One advantage to this course is the biggest shortcut of the game which none of the computers use. The shortcut is about ¾ of the way through the course and is located between a one way sign and the bridge, when you go in between there, there is another track which connects you to the main track moments later and takes about 10 seconds off your time. When in match race, it is essential to use this shortcut. Even with it the cars are right behind you and often overtake you soon after.

Match Race Cars:

The first Match Race car which you get looks cool, but really sucks when it comes to driving. The steering is extremely bad and the speed at which it goes at often makes the car very unstable. The second Match Race car is a different story, this car rivals the jeep in every area and when racing with other people, the two cars are always neck in neck. I still prefer the Jeep though, but if you get used to the second Match Race car it can become a formidable foe.

Bonus Cars

When all of the courses have been won in Match Race, the first of the two hidden cars appears. If the player defeats this first new racer, he or she can then race in this car against the second and final challenger. If the player beats the second challenger, the player can then race in that second car, and will have defeated the Match Race Mode.

Ghost Car

Players can race against a ghost car in the Time Trial mode once they have established the standard in lap times.

Match Race

To open up Match Race Mode, you must achieve first place in all of the difficulty levels in Championship Mode.

Mirror Course

After beating both secret racers (i.e. Satan and God) in all three difficulty levels of Match Race, you'll open up the Mirror Course.

Hidden Shortcut

Although MRC seems to tell you where most of the branching paths are in the game, there is one hidden shortcut it doesn't tell you about. First, you must select the Downtown (hard) track. At about the 3/4 mark on the track, after passing the windmills and after some uphill zig-zags, you will come to a wide turn near a waterfall. Near the right edge of the track you will see a tree next to a "One Way" sign. Head for the tree and there will be a gap in the fence, and you'll see a dirt road that goes straight through the waterfall into a tunnel filled with water. This road, which is the fastest route, will put you very close to the finish line.

Turbo Boost

For a super-fast start, wait until the countdown timer reaches "1," then hold down the gas button. This may take a little bit of practice to do.

Tips & Tricks

Here are four tips & tricks for Multi-Racing Championship. They enable you to get other cars, race on mirrored courses and more. Notice how they seem kind of similar to Mario Kart 64's cheats.

1. Press the R button at the title screen and it will display the best T.T. time for the Mountain course.

2. Win the race on all three courses in Championship Mode to gain access to the first opponent (Hannya) in the Challenge Mode.

3. Win the race on all three courses against Hannya and you can now use their car. You also gain access to the second opponent (Deus) in the Challenge Mode.

4. Win the race on all three courses against Deus and you can now use their car. You also gain access to all three mirror tracks.
