Birdman Transport
Using any of the vehicles in the first level, you'll find a bridge-shaped rock formation with a giant golden star under it. Go to it, hit it, and you'll automatically transport to the birdman level.
Refueling Secret
To refuel you Gyrocopter or Rocketbelt on the little states island, you can fly along the northwest road from Cape Canaveral. You'll see a gas station on the left. Fly low and slow around the station until you hear a noise like taking off from a hopping pad.
You can also get fuel in the little town near the nuclear plant, just fly under the little station's roof and you'll have a full tank.
Get a 100 on Jumble Hopper, mission 3
Jump between the building you start on and the building in front. You will notice a doorway on the building in front. Go through this into the Nintendo building and out of the other doorway. You are teleported to near to the end of the level. You can get 100 every time. It is difficult to get in the doorway, so I worked out an easier way. Aim against the opposite building so as you bounce into or close to the doorway. This makes it easier.
Warps
When you're in Seattle, fly into an open warehouse with the rocketbelt. When you turn around again, you're in Cape Canaveral, watching a space shuttle take off! It also works vice versa, when you're in Cape canaveral, and you fly into the warehouse, you get to Seattle.
When you're on Crescent Island, in one of the caves (not exactly sure which one), there is a warp which warps you to Little USA. When you come out, it's night-time, and all the skyscrapers have their lights on. It's pretty cool.
In the Jumble Hopper in the third mision, jump in between the building you start off of and the building in front of you. See the doorway in the front building? Go through it, and then out of the other doorway. You get warped to the end of the level meaning you can get a perfect score easily!!!
Four Birdman Stars
In PilotWings 64, there is one star for each level that enables your character to transform into the Birdman suit.
Class A The second star is in the center of Central Park, New York City, which is on the east side of the "island" in the Little States.
Class B On Ever-Frost Island, this star is located inside a cave from which a waterfall appears. There are two waterfalls -- take the smaller one on the right and follow the cave until you've reached the end. Change your viewpoint to top down and you'll see an underground cavern. Lower yourself slowly down and it'll be there.
Pilot Class The fourth star is on Crescent Island and is located in a cave, along the ocean, between the airport and the little village, and is located inside the rock face.
In each case, once you've attainted the star, the screen will turn white and you will immediately begin again as birdman.
