MILA GEORGIEVA

Mila Georgieva was born on February 21. 1976  in Sofia, Bulgaria. She began playing violin at age of four and even before she reached her teens she had a worldwide reputation, winning top prizes in competitions in Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Italy, touring in Spain, Holland, the Philippines, Singapore, India and China, appearing on the Italian, French and Swiss television. She studied with Cho-Liang Lin and Dorothy DeLay at the Julliard School in New York. As her performing career has grown, Mila Georgieva has performed with Gewandhaus Orchestra, Leipzig under Kurt Mazur, Bamberg Symphony under Georges Pretre, Tonhalle Orchestra, Zurich under Richard Hickox, Mozarteum Orchestra, Salzburg (in Austria and USA), the orchestras of Belgian and Dutch Radio and Television, Plovdiv Philharmonic, Sofia Philharmonic, “Sofia Soloists” Chamber Ensemble, the Franz Lizst Chamber Orchestra from Budapest, RIAS Symphony Orchestra, Berlin... She has toured in Germany, South America and Japan, where she recorded 4 CD’s for RCA “Victor”. 1998 Mila Georgieva performed for the first time at the Easter Festival in Salzburg, Marlboro Festival (with Houston Symphony) and Ravinia Festival in Chicago (with Christoph Eshenbach). In 1998 the Swiss Television filmed a musical portrait of Mila Georgieva.
