ALESSANDRO SERRA

Alessandro Serra graduated with honours from the Maderna Conservatory in Cezena, Italy, in the double-bass class of Maestro Mayoni, in 1992. He later specialised at the Staufer Academy in Cremona with Maestro Petraki and at the Perosi Academy in Biella under the supervision of Maestro Etore. He has given numerous solo recitals and concerts in Italy, Bulgaria and Switzerland. In 1997 he went on a concert tour in Brazil. He was prize-winner at national and international contests. He participated in the youth orchestra of the European Community and in Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra conducted by Claudio Abbado. In 1996 he was chosen by Maestro Mutti to join the Milan Scala orchestra. In 1999 Mr. Serra won 2. prize at the International Competition “Botezini”. He recorded also a CD with music of Botezini under the direction of Nayden Todorov.
