ARUSJAK BALTAJAN

Arusjak Baltajan finished the “Dobrin Petkov” High-School of Music in Plovdiv with a Gold medal in 1990. In May 1995 Arusjak continued her studies at the University of Arkansas in professor Mardirosyan’s class and in the postgraduate instrumental course of professor Neeman in London. Arusjak won the following prizes: First prize from Yan Kotzian, First prize from Henrich Vienyavski, Sofia 1985, First prize from the USA National Association of Music Teachers Contest. She also has prestigious awards from the Hachaturyan international contests in New York (1990), and Shopmaker in Kansas city in 1991. She won Third prize at the Rudolfo Lipitzer contest in Goritsia, Italy, in September 1996. Her most recent award is the First prize she won at the Morris Warshaw contest in Gilhold. Her professional activities include recitals in Vienna, Hanover, Stuttgart, Valladolid, Los Angeles, Chicago and San Francisco. She has performed as soloist with a number of symphonic orchestras in Sofia, Plovdiv and Shoumen, as well as with the National radio-orchestra and the Sofia Soloists chamber ensemble. She has also played with symphonic orchestras in the USA and Great Britain and has made recordings for the radio and TV. Her interpretation, recorded at the Kotzian contest in Czechoslovakia was included in the Supraphone record among other performances by the most exquisite winners. In 1996 the German company Audiofile Classic issued a CD of the Violin Concerto by Hachaturyan performed by Arusjak and the Symphony Orchestra of the Bulgarian National Radio conducted by Ivan Marinov. In 1998 Mrs. Baltajan performed in the "Thracia Summer" Music Festival in a concert with Thracia Symphony Orchestra conducted by Maestro Nayden Todorov.
