PETER RICHTER

Peter Richter, born in 1930 in Prague, studied in the Universities in Detmold, Hamburg and Salzburg. He has won various prizes - prize for young artists (Hannover 1956), Artists Prize of Nordrhein - Westfalen, Furthering Prize of Hansestadt Luebeck etc.. Peter Richter has been conductor of the Theaters in Hagen, Wuppertal, Hof, Munich, Berlin, Vienna and Hamburg. He was founder and conductor of the Luebeck Chamber Orchestra and the Siegerland Symphony Orchestra. In 1961/62 he meet in the International Music Festival in Luzerne the great conductor Rafael Kubelik, who said about Richter: "I don't know one of the german conductors, who is able to surpass him in intensive interpretation, superior guide of the orchestra and variable gifts...". Peter Richter has been General Music Director in Hof (Germany) and Santiago de Chile (Chile). He leaded some of the greatest orchestras in the world, among them: the Symphony Orchestra of the Bavarian Radio, Munich Philharmonic, Bamberg Symphony, Hamburg Symphony, National Philharmonic of Chile, Vienna Symphony (in Vienna Musikverein), R.T.L.Orchestra ... He made also concert tours in U.S.A. and Canada with the Symphony Orchestra of the Bavarian Radio. Since 1981 Peter Richter has been a professor in the Music University in Vienna and since 1996 he is in the board of the directors of "Thracia Summer" Music Festival.
