A large fire burns comfortably in the hearth, it's ruddy glow infusing the room with heat and light. The study is comfortable, or so it seems when one looks upon it. Large, plush chairs of the best fabric and finest construction stand upon hand-woven carpets that only the most wealthy can afford. Decorated with woven pictures of fanciful beasts and colourful flowers, they drew the eye, tempting you to lose yourself for long hours in their beauty. Carved wooden tables stand here and there, objects rare and beautiful-or rare and ghastly-ornament the room. But it's predominant feature are the books. The room is lined with deep wooden shelves, holding hundreds and hundreds of books. It is a comfortable room, but, despite the roaring fire blazing in the huge, gaping fireplace, there is a bone chilling cold in the air. Your attention is drawn to a tome resting on the ancient stone desk. Upon opening the book, you recognise Lord DeVille's elegant script.

"The Journal of Lord Tamanier DeVille."
