The Slaton and DuBois Family of Alabama

Henry Harris Slaton DuBois (1878-1962) Known to me as Granddad DuBois; to everyone else, he was "Slaton." He was born and raised in Greensboro, Hale County, Alabama where his father, Dr. Rufus DuBois, was a dentist. The youngest of eight children, Slaton felt the brunt of his parents' financial struggles as old age and Reconstruction took its toll. Slaton left medical school to follow a calling to the Methodist ministry in Missouri.
