note: The above statue of the Virgin Mary is located in St Edmunds Church, Watseka Illinois. When I was four years old I was with my mother who was praying in front of this statue during a very stressful time in her life. She told me to look at the statue that the statue's eyes had blinked and the mouth smiled. My mother was very devoted to Mary and took this to be the sign that her prayer would be answered. Like my mother I too have a devotion to Mary and turn to her in times of need.
