THE HONORS RECITAL COMPETITION

Students wishing to take part in this event will be heard and adjudicated by appointment. The judges will provide evaluation sheets with helpful comments. Those receiving the highest ratings will perform at the recital. There will be no restrictions on the level of difficulty or the instrument. Age requirements will be as follows:

Instrumental: Early grades through high school senior

Vocal: Ages 15 to 29

Applications must be sent in on the regular recital forms with a $12.00 per entrant fee. Students must bring music with them – no music – no performance. The first seventy entries will be accepted.

BAROQUE FESTIVAL

 Students are given the opportunity to perform for adjudicators and receive individual ratings and prizes. Any repertoire in the Baroque Period (1600 -1750) may be performed. The majority of the working years of the composer should be in that time period. All winners will be chosen on the basis of overall "Quality of Performance".

Only solos must be performed from memory. There will be no limit on the number of students participating from each studio. However there is a limit of 1 piece per student. Applications must be sent in on the regular recital forms with a $12.00 entry fee . Three copies of the composition must accompany each entry form.
