Hey man,
I'm not sure if you're in charge of the Numan Disography (a real
lifesaver) but anyways, for the studio release of Dance, Jess
Lidyard is spelt Lynard! Just thought i'd point that out
Thanks guys

I bought, way back in 1980, an album called Telekon in a 2nd hand
store, a while later I found another Telekon album this time with
a free single, which being a great Numan fan I thought I had
better buy, just for the free single.
Anyway, when I got the new album home I discovered that there was
a different track on it, on looking at the album I had originally
bought, I realised I had somehow picked up an American version,
this has I Die: You Die as the lasttrack on side one and nothing
free with it. The 2nd one I bought has Sleep By Windows as the
last track on side one and the free single was On Broadway/Remember I Was Vapour.
So I am taking it Hansi, that this was quite possibly the
original releasse and as I was a vinyl only person at the time, I
completely missed the cassette version, so it looks like I missed
out on a possible 3rd different version of Telekon(!!)

Hansi the Austrian brought up the Replicants record in connection
with them doing a cover of AFE. I had this CD. I don't know what
happened to it. It's a rockin' sort of version, albeit a bit
uninspired. It's an all-covers album. Included is a version of No
Good Trying by Syd Barrett.
No Good Trying, from the Barrett album Madcap Laughs, sounds to
me like it could have been a Numan song. Not only is there much
in common with the Numan voice and vocal range, the lyrics are
odd, deadpan fantasmagorical, sci-fi in atmosphere and
more-than-slightly paranoid. And yet extremely personal,
multi-layered and metaphorical. Very Numan, the 1969 version.
When I talked to Numan, I brought up my Syd-compatible theory. He
seemed interested but said he hadn't heard much Barrett.
I think there's an interesting link there.

Comments: Hello Hansi, An Austrian Numanoid, I'm very
impressed! I work for an Austrian owned company (Julius Blum
GmbH) and of all the people I speak to Cars is the only thing
that Gary Numan is remembered for. So keep up the good work and
spread the word to the rest of Austria! Cheers, Mark

Gästebuch von Klaus Sauer gesehen, und ich wollte es mir nicht
nehmen lassen, der erste (deutschsprachige) Numanoide in Deinem
