Prestigious dutch saxophonist. At the age of 7 Carola Cuypers received her first saxophone lessons. Already in young age she won many national competitions which gave her the possibility to record with Eurosound and to collaborate with the dutch radio and television.
Her professional studies she realized at the "Hoge School der Kunsten, Utrecht" (Holland) with Ed Bogaard, Andre Hemmers en Iwan Roth, obtaining the diploms "Uitvoerend Musicus" en "Docerend Musicus" with the qualification "Cum Laude".
In 1991 she was laureate of "The first European Saxophone Contest" in Gap (France).
One year later she obtained the highest diplom of the "Musik-Akademie Basel" (Switserland), the "Solisten-Diplom", studying with the master Iwan Roth.
Her interest in the contemporary music conducted her to the "Electronic Studio Basel" where she experimented with saxophone and live-electronics, developing her compositorial facets.
As a soloist she played in the "Concertgebouw" in Amsterdam, the "Philips-zaal" in Eindhoven and the "Stadt-Casino" in Basel with the Basler Sinfonie Orchester, conducted by Harri Rodmann and in ensembles in numberous countries of Europe: Germany, Belgium, France, Hungary etc.
With the most prestigous concertists and pedagogues she attended master-classes: Daniel Deffayet, Jean-Marie Londeix, Claude Delangle, FranÁoise Daneels, Ryo Noda.
As a pedagogue she worked in Holland, Switserland and Spain, and conducted varios saxophone-ensembles.

Since 1994, with Enrique M. Lop, she forms part of the unusual duo of saxophone and guitar, "Duo Cuypers / Lop". In May 1998 they released their first CD "Different Worlds" with original contemporary works of known Dutch composers.
