Steinbrunnīs Tamburasi at Festival on the Island of Murter, Republic of Croatia

It was the Tourism office on the Island Murter, Croatia, that invited us to perform at their folklore festival this past Summer 2001.
During the 2-day festival 18 wonderful folkloric groups from all over Croatia performed. We gave two of our concerts there, one on Friday, July 13th and the other on Saturday, July 14th.
However, the highlight of the festival took place for us late Sunday evening, July 15th, when we gave a classical concert in Betinaīs church on the island. Our conductor at this concert was our own music director, Prof. Vjekoslav Vila from Zagreb, Croatia. Prof. Vila also happens to have a summer house on the Island of Murter.
We were honored to have the opportunity to visit with him in his second home there and to have given a great concert as well. We felt that the audience appreciated our repertoire very very much.
During the week we spent in Croatia we went sightseeing in Zagreb, the Plitvice Lakes National Park, and the coastal city of Sibenik, where we enjoyed some relaxing days on the Adriatic Sea, including a boat trip to the Kornati Archipelago.
All in all, it was a great trip. We returned to Austria satisfied, pleased and well rested.
