The Crafter's haven

Here is my miniature craft haven roombox which I often retreat too in my mini dreams. Since I do not have a "real"
room as such dedicated solely for craft work in my home, this miniature version was born out of my dream to own
one. A place where only my craft stuff is allowed to crowd every nook and cranny. A sanctuary for not only my
strange finds but also for my creative muse. Everything in the room was made out of scavenged items - cardboard,
scraps of fabric, magazine cuttings, printies, bottle caps, beads, toothpicks, popsicle sticks, ribbons, florist tape and
just about anything I can put to good use.

This is a side view of the craft table with a notice board for all the important reminders and sticky notes. There
is a teddy bear themed calendar (another printie I made) hanging on it with important dates crossed. The chair
was made out of popsicle sticks and distressed with paint.

The creative mess you see on this table is a perfect replication of my real table. Most of the time, I cannot even
find my craft tools on this table which I believe is a dilemma every crafter can vouch for. The plastic ballerina
was a keychain. She is too tall for this table setting but I placed her as I needed a tiny doll to complete the setting.
Maybe I should "surgically" trim her legs down to blend with the arrangement:))))

There are sewing items stuffed into a basket. Some decorative candles can also be seen. Lots of craft materials are
scattered everywhere in the table. Inside the opened drawer, there are laces, scraps of fabric and an address book.
There is hot brewed coffee sitting at the side while a craft catalogue is being browsed.

More ribbons, laces and spools of thread stuffed into a jute basket at the side. There is a scissor with scrap cuttings
from yesterday night's crafting. A whole of box of craft ephemeras such as needles, gold beads, trimmings etc. In the
distance, a small wooden sign board which is not very visible in the picture. It reads "crafting in progress", guess I will
add a "Do not disturb" sign too to go with it.

There is a camellia plant in a plastic planter which was originally a toiletry cap. Beside it is another bottle cap acting
as a magazine holder (can even be used as a rubbish bin, I think) holding some past issues of magazines and assorted
range of crepe paper. Since I love making mini paper flowers, the stacks of crepe paper was indispensable in the
setting. There is a jute rug seen below the chair to rest those sore feet.

This plastic dolly was a keychain. Originally, the doll had no hair whatsoever. So I did some wigging and painted
the eyes for prominence. You can see a beautiful crocheted shawl hanging on the chair for those cold days.
Since, I cannot crochet anything so I  had this piece cut from a readymade table mat and folded it strategically.

Bulletin boards are a must for me for all the important reminders. There is an artificial swag hanging on it which
I made sometime earlier. The board is a little empty at the moment. Hope to add some postcards, photos and sticky
        notes soon.

The letter holder is victorian inspired printie I made. It is looking really cute on the wall with all those mini letters and
        catalogues.

A mini wreath to complete the craft room atmosphere. I made this out of a wooden ring, jute, some dried flowers
        and tissue roses.

This is where more craft materials are stored precariously. On the cupboard are assorted boxes holding all the mini
finds. Bolts of fabric are leaning neatly against another tube storage box. There is beautiful pink lacy dress hanging on
a wooden lattice work coat hanger. A hand painted tote bag is also hanging. There is a lazy susan below holding some
newly purchased craft kits which have not been started. At the bottom corner, there is a plant which is supposed to be
spider plant but it is badly squashed up as I did not store it properly :))))

This is a flower arrangement I made with some mini paper roses, daisies and mums on a wooden bead pot. The
picture is a printie and the wooden frame was made with scrap wood pieces. On the far right, there is mini pewter
Buddha statue which I was lucky to find in a trinkets shop. There is a cactus plant hiding behind the statue. On the
cupboard below, there is an ornate picture frame made from gold trimmings. A book collection is also visible ranging
from Blake's poetry and other literary classics.

I love reading craft magazines and they are a common find in my home. So I had to place some worn mini craft
magazines in this mini room as well. You can see a toothpick doll (an inspired creation from Francis Armstrong's
toothpick dolls) on the shelf. She is bald right now and needs some hair which I will add later.

        Some Renovations....

Just as our home undergoes a makeover, this mini room too undergoes renovation from time to time. You can
        see below the new additions.

I added a plate railing ( made from popsicle sticks) on top of the picture frame. Then placed an exquisite one of a
kind hand painted teapot. Hope you can see the blooming rose motif on the teapot which was painted with a
toothpick. Not sure what else to add on the plate railing, maybe some plates, tea cups or biscuit tins.
