MINI CLAY COOKIES

Cookies can be shaped using
just
a stylus or toothpick. Roll a small ball of pastry colored clay
(smaller than a
pea size), press it flat on wax paper, use your fingertip to hold the cookie (
i.e. holding
contact lenses) and then use the stylus to make indents (i.e.
tucking the clay inwards) around the side
of the cookie. You can make about 7
different shapes using just the stylus or toothpick as your
cookie shaper. Gloss
the cookies with acrylic varnish for a deeper color or leave them matt.
Other tips: To prevent clay from drying
as you work, place a damp cloth over it. If you are using paper
clay, brush over
the cookies with little water at the end to remove cracks or fingerprint marks.
If you wish
to reproduce a crumbly cookie effect, roll the clay when it is
little dry. Use the tiny dried crumbs of leftover
clay as crumbs of the cookies.
