Tracheomalacia     Bronchomalacia     Bronchiectasis

Tracheomalacia and bronchomalacia (sometimes called tracheobronchomalacia) may be primary or secondary in nature. These conditions usually occur in children, but they can be observed in adults. Tracheomalacia and bronchomalacia are termed primary if they arise from primary cartilage abnormalities of the trachea, such as immature formation of the cartilaginous rings in neonates or relapsing polychondritis in children and adults. These are Functional Airway Deformity Disorders. A Genetic Disorder one is called Mounier-Kuhn Syndrome

Bronchiectasis is a disorder of the large bronchi characterized by airway dilation; it is caused by recurrent, destructive inflammation or infection of the airways.
another way to describe it is a disease process resulting from progressive lung damage due to frequent, unresolved infections

bacterium can become billions. When bacteria overwhelm a part of the body, this is known as bacterial colonization. Bacterial colonization can result in serious illness.

The above medical conditions explain what I have to deal with each day. Bronchiectasis was diagnosed when I was 18 years of age and tracheobronchomalacia was diagnosed in 1993. Bronchiectasis was most likely caused by the defective trachea.
I would like to hear from others that have or may have knowledge of these conditions.

Both conditions are RARE!
