This poem was written in the Summer of 1985, in order to raise funds for the
construction of the Arizona Vietnam Veterans Memorial. We do have this poem on a memorable
plaque for all to have in their home.
In Memory
Through all the c louds
inside one's mind.
Some hidden memories do unwind.
The fallen comrades and bitter faces,
the dreams so shattered; Vietnam traces.
We gave so much, against all odds;
starlight children of the Gods.
Forgotten warriors in worn-out boots;
rejected by our own home roots.
We lost some time we can't replace,
we lost our pride, and found no space.
Our secrets locked inside our minds,
some thoughts do fade , as on time grinds.
There was no praise, no flags to wave;
and many found an early grave.
For all the time that we've endured,
and all the wounds that have not cured.
For all who never heard it.
Thanks for your sacrifice
