| If you attended LJHS, as did many Northeast grads, you might be interested in participating in the "Lealman Project". Lealman grads Mary Lynn Petersen Knight (Northeast '63) and Jon Wilson (Dixie '63) are co-authoring a book about the 1950s-60s era of LJHS and the surrounding Lealman area. They would very much appreciate input from former students. So far they have contacted some "kids", a few teachers and some of the pioneers/founders of the Lealman area. Sadly, there are plans for LJHS to be torn down soon, but there is a group of folks trying to save it and have it claimed an Historical Monument. Another group is attempting to have the Lealman area accepted into city status. All these people are working very hard to help save this bit of history.
