New Year's Tournament
02/20/2005
Well, this tournament didn't quite go the way I thought it would.  There were 26 teams entered in 4 divisions.  The top two in each division would move on to the semi-finals, then the top four would play for tournament championships.

Right off the bat, things just didn't click in this tournament.  Two of us (me included) were using brand new guns, the field was an odd design that we just couldn't get a handle on, and the main reason for our poor showing was a lack of practice.  These are all just excuses, but I'm sure they had a hand in our problems.

We won the first two games in our division, taking 100 pts in each one.  Then we choked the next couple.  We finally started getting a handle on it and finished the day with wins.  We actually managed to take third in our division.  We missed taking 2nd place by 10 lousy points!  So, instead of taking home a trophy, we just went home early.

But, a small consolation - the team that took 2nd overall in the tournament was beaten by us!
This is one of our breakouts in the tournament - major improvement!  Look at all our guns up and shooting the lanes.
Another breakout - this one came early and caught us by surprise!  We got through it though...
Lee getting the hang and 100 pts...he deserved this one!  He was last in and took out 3 of their players to get it!
