1... Michael Vick

.

School: Virginia Tech
The state of California could use Vick's electricity. He is a thrill a minute and downright scary to the opposition. He has a cannon of an arm. His frozen ropes look like laser beams. He will be the most dynamic runner at his position in history. His combination of speed and jukes is unique; McNabb, Stewart, and Culpepper don't come close to his elusiveness. He is not very tall but is built sturdy. He has an excellent release and is not intimidated when the hits pile up. He is a competitor. He could very well run for 1000 yds in a season. He will need time to learn how to attack pro defenses. He needs alot of work on his mechanics and on how to go through his progressions at a much faster pace. He is also all over the place when it comes to accuracy. He is a phenominal athlete that will experience growing pains. He is a work in progress.

2... Drew Brees

School: Purdue
Smart, gritty leader. He has excellent touch and accuracy on his throws. Knows the game; is a field general. Gets his throws off quick with good timing. Can hit people in full stride. He is an okay runner that feels pressure in the pocket instinctively. Not a great athlete naturally but he works very hard to improve his speed and mobility. Does not have a deep arm; will struggle with the deep out and with throws that don't allow him to get set. Had some rough stretches this year but played well for the most part. Not the prototypical size you look for but the heart and mind will win you over. Needs to be given a good supporting cast.
3... Jesse Palmer
6'2"

School: Florida
Pretty good arm. More often than not he is accurate at all levels, especially in the short and intermediate areas. Has a good overhead release and a quick gun. Gives receivers a chance to run after the catch. Showed that he can hit his second and third options. Played well at the Senior Bowl. Will force some throws. Not a vocal leader who plays with fire. Will get sloppy with his mechanics when things are not going well. Scouts are not sure what type of confidence he has after getting abused by coach Spurrier.

4... Chris Weinke

.
School: Florida St.
Smart team leader type who demands respect in the huddle. Shows composure. Excelled at every level, including in baseball. Has good size and arm strength. Has the ability to throw deep with touch. Fairly accurate on slants and outs. Can get hot and be an expert marksman when not overly pressured. Can sidestep the rush. Older than most veteran quarterbacks. Not fleet of foot. When pressured he will lose his accuracy and throw the ball into the ground. Needs to get the ball off quicker. Has gotten more quicker since he dropped some weight.
5... David Rivers
6'3"

.
School: Western Carolina
Transfer from Virginia who shows raw but promising skills. Will take command of a team. Can move around well and throw on the run. Has a nice tight spiral. Can get the ball deep. Poised player who does not play scared. Finished the regular season playing his best ball. Has good touch and can spread the ball around. Limited experience; only started one year. Not consistent in his throwing motion. Can lose his touch for long periods. Has a poor post-season and will need some fine tuning to even make a roster, but if you have the time he might be a pleasant surprise.
6... Mike McMahon
6'2"
207
.
Rutgers
Athletic and sturdy. Tough; will take a hit in order to buy that split second needed to get the receiver open. Has good velocity on his throws. Has a quick throwing motion and played in a pro style offense. Can read blitzes and beat it. Does not have to be set to throw. Lacks touch. Can play hot and cold. Throws too many picks. Cocky player.
7... Quincy Carter
6'2"
225
.
Georgia
Fluid drop back. Can unload the ball quick. Nimble feet allows him to avoid the rush. Can stand in and take the hit. Athletic in his movement down the field. Can time his throws when on his game. Has shown the ability to throw a nice and tight out pattern. Can lose his concentration. Has a habit of overthrowing his targets. Coming off a poor year. Know one knows why he came out early.
8... Marques Tuiasosopo
6'1"

.
Washington
Team leader. Fires up teammates with his inspirational play. Can create when things break down. Can scramble and buy time. Has good arm strength and can lead the receiver well on short throws. Can get the ball deep. Dedication is his middle name. Inconsistent with his delivery. Will force passes and throw inaccurately on deep patterns. Not the ideal height.
