1. The Somerset Levels - especially around Westhay Moor - magic!
2. Anywhere on the Mendip Hills - especially the Blackdown and Burrington area.
3. The Kennet and Avon Canal in the Vale of Pewsey. A complete contrast to the suburban 'park' the K&A has become near to Bath.
4. One of the local hilltops around Bath - Solsbury Hill or Kelston Round Hill, for example.
5. Somewhere along the Severn Estuary between
Oldbury-on-Severn and Berkeley.
6. The many fine hills in South Wales - the Blorenge, the Sugar Loaf and Skirrid Fawr close to Abergavenny being particular favourites.
7. Anywhere in Shropshire, arguably one of the best counties for walking in England. Especially the Ludlow area - a food-lover's paradise!
