On September 23, in the year 1965, a handful of men took the determination to ignite the lighthouse that would guide the action of revolutionaries in our Mexico.
On September 23, in the year 1965, a group of people, among whom were Dr. Pablo Gómez, Prof. Arturo Gámiz and the Hon. Gaitán, took the decision to militarily assault Barracks Madeira, in Chihuahua.
On September 23, in the year 1965, the long path that the revolutionaries of our motherland we have travelled was initiated, with weapons in our hands, the path to socialism as an alternative development to the Way of Capitalist Production was shaped.
On September 23, in the year 1965, a new form of struggle was born that since the armed movement of 1910-1917 had not been considered as a valid, necessary, uncompromising option, inevitable and forced.
On September 23, in the year 1965, it appeared to the entire world that for our nation there was no remaining alternative to armed rebellion as an effective instrument of transformation of our wretched, exploited, oppressed, insane and excluded life. That routes of electoral democracy were closed as real and effective options to assure the full exercise of our most elementary human rights. That the Bourgeois Mexican State was an instrument in the service of the interests of the national and foreign bourgeoisie. That the "Constitutional State" was not guaranteeing the rationality of one real democratic, participatory, just, worthy, equitable life that humanises the great masses of workers, peasants, indigenous and people in general.
On September 23, in the year 1965, this group of revolutionaries demonstrated before the national and international community that the existing political parties in our country were disputing the crumbs that the power was leaving, that the forgotten principles of service and struggle close to our people, that the voices of our parties was not those of our people and hard-working classes, but those who aspired to pieces of power to be disputed, excluding from the ideology and program of action the people's interests and needs.
On September 23, in the year 1965, saying enough already! with the reason of weapons to stimulate the weapon of reason of our people, the path that still remains as inexorable option for our nation was opened.
On September 23, in the year 1965, as on another 23rd of September, but in the year 2002, it remains as the only way that the Mexican State leaves us to really transform, beyond the bullshit, our miserable and unbearable quality of life.
On September 23, in the year 1965, the blood of our martyrs splashed the ground to show us that the only way to stop being martyrs, wretches, exploited, excluded, patient and everlasting dead men consists of constructing a popular power that makes possible the military, political and ideological defeat of defenders of existing social order, annulling and overcoming its inhuman and alienating character.
Today, over the distance of 37 years, it is evident that the politico- economic conditions that led this handful of revolutionaries to decide to take up arms to transform the conditions of life in ours motherland remain and recur as an inexcusable reality; today, over 37 years of distance, the construction and development of the Popular Revolutionary Army continues being necessary.
