Fried Oranges

12 oz. Beer
1 C. flour
Pinch saffron
1 tsp. sugar
1/8 tsp. Clove powder
¾ tsp. cinnamon
½ tsp. Ginger powder
Dash salt

4 oranges, peeled and segmented with all the pith removed
Oil for deep frying

Mix all ingredients except the oranges thoroughly to form a thin batter. Dip orange segments into the batter and deep fry in oil until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
