"Mood Rings" Chapter 11

Duo awoke about 2:00 AM still in quite a great deal of pain. The room was very dark, but
Duo could barely make out that the bed across the night stand from his was once again
occupied by Heero. Duo slowly lifted the mirror from the night stand so as not to wake
Heero. He reached up and removed his shades and the vision in the mirror startled him. His
eyes were now black, lime green, and yellow swirls of color. He fumbled and pulled at and
around them for a few minutes until Heero suddenly awoke. Duo slipped on his shades and
addressed Heero.
"Enjoy your beauty sleep, Cinderella?"
"Who's Cinderella?"
*sighs* "Never mind."
"Can you fly?"
"Is the pope Catholic?"
"Can you walk?"
"Haven't we had this conversation before?"
Heero arose from his bed, walked over to Duo's, and picked him up.
"Woah! What ya doin'?"
"Getting us out of here."
"Why? Isn't Quatre one of out allies?"
"Hai, but he's asking too many questions."
"So was I, but you didn't run away from..."
"No, I broke your ribs instead."
"Was that an attempted Heero Yuy joke?" *grinning*
"Trust me. We need to take leave for now."
"Trust you?! Trust you?! You haven't even told me what the hell is going on with our
f###ing eyes! Why the hell should I trust you?!"
#$hit!!!#
"Duo... I'm leaving. Are you coming or not. I promise I will explain everything later.
There is no time now. I don't blame you for not trusting me."
"Let's go."
Heero picked up Duo and ran towards the docking bay.
"Oh honey, are you carrying me across the threshold?" *grinning*
"Shut up, Duo."
Heero rode Duo's zip cord up and non-ceremoniously plopped Duo down in Shinigami.
"Ouch!"
"Just fly."
Heero jumped down, boarded wing, and both gundams took off into the night.
Duo's face showed on Heero's vidscreen. "So, ya gonna tell me what the hell is going on now?"
