"Mood Rings" Chapter 3

Duo felt better inside Shinigami's cockpit. He felt safe and quite happy that he was going
to get the chance to carry on a two sided conversation for once. He couldn't wait to get to
Quatre's estate. Duo was suddenly brought out of his reverie by the perfect soldier's
monotone voice.
"Looks like we've got trouble. Four Leos at two o clock."
Duo grins and thumbs up. "I'm on it, buddy!"
"You're injured. You should hold back."
"Oh, that's it!!!"
Shinigami leapt into the center of the fray and took out two Leos with one swipe.
"Duo, I said hold back."
Duo ignored Heero and continued to take out his frustrations as a whole squad of Leos made
the scene. Before he knew it, Duo coughed and blood floated in little beads around his
face. The blood drops made him think of little ladybugs flying around his head. Before he
knew it, he was in a pretty field of daisies and ladybugs.
"Duo!!! Duo come in!"
Shinigami floated in space, an open duck for attacks.
"Damit Duo... wake up! Are you there?!"
More troops kept coming and after a while Wing started running low on ammo and supplies.
Heero flew wing over to Shinigami, glanced at the self-destruct button, and punched it for
all it's worth.

Duo lay clumsily sprawled in a large field of daisies. Butterflies floated around his head
and mingled with delicate little ladybugs. A soft breeze blew by. The sun felt warm and
cosy and he was enjoying it. He watched at the clouds floated by and imagined the many
different things they could be. A grin spread lightly across his lips.
Suddenly, his view was shrouded by Heero looking down at him. Heero was wearing his usual
attire, green tank-top and black biker shorts, with the ever-so-annoying sunglasses.
"Oi Heero, wacha' doin' here?"
Heero grinned. "I want to show you something, Duo."
Duo smiled happily. "What?"
"This."
Heero jerked off his sunglasses and rose thorns jolted from his eyes to take the same
position that the barb wire had in his dream.
The daisies pure whiteness was now tainted with blood.
"Why Heero?"
Heero's grin widened.
"Because you love me."
All became cold.

Woah, that was way more intense than originally planned. Don't worry. This isn't the end.
Hopefully, my next chapter, if you can even call them chapters, will be longer.
Duo: "AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!! You're going to give me nightmares!"
Trowa: "You already gave me nightmares with "Pokechibi".
Wufei: "You two are weak."
Duo: "Oh really? Is that why you keep screaming "No the bunnies! Make the pink bunnies go
away!" in your sleep?" *grins*
Wufei: "Shut up, Maxwell!"
Duo: *snickers* "Oh no! Get the pink bunnies off of me!"
Wufei: "MAXWELL!!!"
Wufei tackles Duo as Trowa steps back to watch.
Quatre comes in with a pink bunny stuffed animal, and Wufei curls into a ball on the floor.
Wufei: "NO! BUNNIES!!!"
Duo laughs so hard he falls on the floor, and even Trowa snickers.
Quatre: "Did I miss something?"
Heero comes running in with his gun.
Heero: "Did someone say pink bunnies?"
Heero grabs the pink bunny toy from Quatre's grasp and shoots huge holes in it.
Quatre goes zero and the other four piolets run.
Gomen, I have no idea where all that came from.
