My take on the book:
Seemingly a simple read of a boy on a journey to find his treasure, this book has hidden nuggets of wisdom about life and dreams. It advocates going after your dreams and following your heart where it may lead you. Definitely worth a second read to figure out all the metaphors and hidden meanings. Took me awhile to finish it. Some parts of the book will make you stare at the words for some time before it sinks in its eventuality that you got to do something.. Definitely a book that challenges you to get up and do something about YOUR life and to spur you on to be courageous and go seek that elusive dream of yours because therein your treasure lies.

some people just have it when they write. Well, margaret atwood has IT.
Sharp insight, a fluency on human emotions and wise perception of the complexities of men, she weaves stories that are probably living realities of contemporary society.
The last I heard, she won some pultzier prize for one of her latest novels "Blind Assasin".
