The Rain
The rain falls down in waves
and splatters on my face.
It mingles with my tears
and sad lines it does trace.
The rain soaks through my clothes,
yet still I cannot feel.
I should be so cold
but none of this seems real.
The rain continues to fall,
my spirits fall down too,
The rain continues to fall,
and still I can’t find you.
The rain obscures my vision—
through it I just cannot see.
I blindly search for you,
but you’re not there for me.
With the rain comes lightning,
and then loud thunderclaps.
They make me lose my bearings
and despair around me wraps.
The rain continues to fall,
my spirits fall down too,
The rain continues to fall,
and still I can’t find you.
My search goes on in vain,
now all my hope is gone.
I’ll never be able to find you
when you’ve been gone so long.
My search ends in vain,
I can’t go on anymore.
No longer does it matter
what life has in store.
The rain continues to fall,
my spirits fall down too,
The rain continues to fall,
and still I can’t find you.
