Back to Violette's Corner
Silent Night
Silent night, ebony black.
Lying in bed, but sleep she lacks.
Confusing thoughts jumble her mind,
a stable place she cannot find.
Tears stream down, contorting her face,
her whimpers unheard by the whole human race.
The world goes on ignoring her pain,
time passes, no one calls her name.
The tears continue without end,
alone in the world, not a single friend.
And still they’ll wonder why she chose to die,
never noticed the twinkle had gone from her eye.
They’ll lie to themselves saying they weren’t to blame,
the real reason they never will name.
The world won’t learn from this mistake,
More hearts still will burn and ache.
The cycle will continue, never ending,
and the world won’t change, never mending.
