~My Profile~
About me
I was born into a christian family as the sixth member in Surrey, BC (a city about 3/4 of an hour away from vancouver). I have a father who supports me financially and a mother who supports me with all my needs (emotional and SOME material). Out of the 4 children they raised, I am the youngest. My Eldest sibling, Evelyn Ji Hong Lee has a heart of gold is married and  has a beautiful little son AND daughter ; Colin (Jae Min Lee) and Rachel. The second oldest, Sophia Ji Yong Lee was  the top student of her graduating class in high school and now works as a financial planner. My brother Paulo, who is the closest in age is an intellect, practical and funny. We use to go to a lot of  movies, especially on a school night and play pool. He took me to my very first (outside of classical music) concert, Lilith fair. I was raised in Surrey for the first 12 years of my life. During my years in BC, I started piano when I was 3, took up violin at the age of 5 and attended Vancouver Academy Music School for the last 3 years of my time in BC. There, I studied with many wonderful teachers such as Arthur Polson, Angela Cavadas, Andrew Dawes and Paul Kling. As far as pets go, I had a goldfish named pinky at the age of three, a huskey dog named Sinu at three, 2 sibling kittens at 7; cody and sasha, a white kitten at 9; marie, a black cat named Bucky (he was really fat, lazy and old),  a crazy Border Collie named Kobi at the age of 10. At the end of my Grade Six Year, I moved to a small town in Vegreville, Alberta because my parents had bought their own business there. Before that, I said good-bye to my dog Kobi before we sold him but he just kept on looking at me like I was crazy. My father believes in traditional values and my mom is a bit of a feminist. I guess that the saying: "Politics makes strange bedfellows" is quite true. Anyways, I was extremely unhappy almost most of my life. There were a lot of small happy moments, but rarely any that seemed fulfilling. I seemed to never be able to overcome growing pains. The truth is, no one will ever be able to overcome it. Life was tough but I always had all my basic needs and some privalleges met. My siblings paved the way for me in so many ways. I got away with a lot. I studied with Tom Johnson for about a year and then switched to Ex ESO Concertmaster Mr.Keene.  Finally, my mother realized that Vegreville is definately not a place to leave any child in, especially when it was in the middle of nowhere and the majority of people were rednecks. In Grade nine, I started living with my Brother in Edmonton at the home my father bought for a getaway from all the crazy townspeople of Veg. I think so anyways... I met a lot of great people in Vegreville nonetheless and had many opportunities to perform. Edmonton was without a doubt a better environment. Grade 9 was really crazy and I had a lot of fun. In the Summer, I went to my first music camp in Ontario called Aria. I  roomed with Anne-Marie, met Simon, Yan and Jenna. High school was weird. I went to 3 different schools. The first one was a very liberal arts high school which was very hectic because of IB and enjoyable  at the same time because I felt that I had the chance to be myself without a lot of limits or pressure from anyone. Unfortunately, it took about an hour and a half to go home everyday. That Summer, I went back to Aria and met Leyan. Then I went to a private Christian School which was literally in the middle of nowhere and made me hate unity. My goal was to graduate a year early, unfortunately, not all the summer school in three years can do that. Went back to Aria again after and came back more depressed and meloncollie than ever. In Grade 12, I went to a Catholic school and met so many typical, yet nice, people. I am now in Montreal and I have hoped to get away for some time. Perhaps, I will, and perhaps I won't... Who knows what the future holds.
