ELSA's 3D revelator glasses
reviewed

This review is for the new 3D Revelator glasses by ELSA. These glasses are bundled with some of ELSA's best video cards. So far you can not go out and buy these separet. You can get these in two versions. The corded version, which you can connect up to four glasses at one time. The infrared version allows you to be up to 15 feet away with as many pairs at one time as you want. Elsa says that when they do allow you to buy these separet they will cost $50 for corded and $75 for IR. So far you can only use these glasses with direct3D enabled games. That means you can play games like quake3 with these. Maybe in the future they will have new ones that supports glide, openGL, etc. You should have a monitor with a refresh rate of at least 100MHz or you will see flickering.
      Here is how they work:
      1.   The graphics driver recieves an instruction from the 3D game to draw a three-dimensional scene from the game. Depending on their distance, objects will be moved to the left or right, and the images with the correct perspective for the left and right eye will be calculated consecutively.
      2.   While the computer is working on the next scene, those images are shown in sequence.
      3.   The image for the left eye is shown while the right LCD is darkened, then the image for the right eye is shown with a darkened left LCD
      4.   This process repeats itself 120 times a second, ensuring an absolutely fluid display with 60 images per second per eye.
