Voodoo5 6000 AGP
reviewed

3DFX has done it again! They have always been the "barrier breaking" company for video cards. They are currently working on thier newest card the voodoo5 6000 AGP. This card will incorperate all new texhnology. Using its new VSA-100 CPU it will be the first video card to break the 1 Gigapixel range. The card will have four VSA-100 CPUs on the board. Each capable of holding 64megs of sDRAM. The card uses so much paower that it will have a external AC adapter. The new card will use motion blur to make objects "more real" and give them a "moving action". It will use this motion bluring afect like movies and shows do. Another new technology used by the new card is soft shadows. Real shadows do not have sharp edges so the card will blend them. The cards new soft refelections will be used for semi-glosed surfaces like polished wood and other hard to dupplicate surfaces. It will have the ability to use directX texture compression which will reduce the texture size of an object with out any lose in visual cuality. This card will have a ramdac clock of 350MHz. This will allow fast refresh rates. All this is because of 3DFX's new T buffer engine. Ok here is the big question. "Will the card work on Win2k?" The answer is YES! The card comes with drives that are compatible with win95, 98, NT 4.0, and 2000. This new card is due out spring 2000 as well as the voodoo4s. The card will start out at $600.
