1984 Chevy Monte Carlo

Purchased: May, 1999 - $1450

Sold: May, 2001 - $450

My dad actually bought this car for me at the tail end of my senior year in high school as a graduation gift.  Since I'm not one to accept gifts like that, he'll get his $1450 back sooner or later. I had big plans for this car; at first, I was going to convert it into an SS with a new front fascia, and I had a turbo Buick 6-cylinder that I wanted to drop into it. I tore the car down big-time, preparing for a total, frame-off restoration.  But, with graduation came the loss of my high school auto shop, where I had been working on the car.  It went into storage when I moved into my first apartment, and I began to lose interest.  It was a discouraging mess, all taken apart like that.  In May of 2000, I found a much cleaner Monte that was an actual SS, so a year later I sold the brown '84.  I had parted out some of it prior to selling the car, however, so the $450 I got for  it wasn't such a bad price.
