1992 Geo Metro 4-Door
Purchased: November, 1998 - $1250
Wrecked: July, 1999 - received a $500 mini tort
I sold my Z-24 in order to get something smaller, something with a manual transmission, and something that would yield me excellent fuel economy. The Metro did exactly that, always averaging more than 40 miles to the gallon, but it also cost me quite a bit in repairs. I spent almost as much on stupid things like turn signal switches and door locks as I did on the car itself. But, it turned out to be a pretty dependable little ride once I had made all the necessary fixes, and you just couldn't top its maneuverability. The day before I was supposed to sell the Metro and pick up my new Sonoma, a Dodge Dakota made a left turn in front of me at a stop light, and we collided head-on. The crash totaled the Metro; talk about strange timing. |
