1992 Chevy Cavalier Z-24

Purchased: December, 2000 - $3800

Sold: March, 2001 - $4200

I purchased this car with the intent of dropping my supercharged Buick 3.8L V-6 into it, and using it as my daily driver when the lease on my Sonoma was up.  It only had a little more than 50000 miles on it when I bought it, a very rare find.  My mistake, however, was buying another Z-24 with that same, crappy 3-speed automatic transmission.  The 3.8L conversion was not a tremendously difficult one, so long as the car was factory equipped with the super durable Getrag 5-speed tranny.  And, as I would later find out, converting a factory automatic Cavalier to a manual transmission was just about impossible to complete successfully.  So, I decided that I would drop the 3.8L idea, and go with a late model 3.4L instead, almost a direct bolt-in for the original 3.1L.  I had grand plans of turbocharging, 400+ horsepower, numerous suspension mods, etc, etc, but alas, my dad wouldn't cosign for me on the loan that would have made all that possible.  Screw it, then, I thought.  I sold the car for a $400 profit, and bought myself my first street-going motorcycle.
