Inconstant Moon

Inconstant moon sailing among
diaphanous wisps of clouds
wreathed in crystalline halos
auras of gold silvered shine
a silver coin twirling in the heavens
you, oh moon, glide gracefully with
modesty, poise, and purpose...
Barren yet inviting
your empty seas beckon
I hear your call and gaze at
your shadow flitting about
as you spin in the emptiness of the
void, space, all along
I hear your melancholy song
from here on earth as
your shadow passes over me,
chilling my very soul
Oh, Moon - thou art beautiful!
