Virtual Breeding

I created this page in mid-January, 2001, and it is all based on true accounts.

I have to say that I am somewhat overwhelmed by the many emails I have received from around the world by people who have read this site. In it's first day, it received over 2000 hits to the front page, which is unheard of for a non-commercial dog website.

The site received over 10000 unique hits in its first week, and has gone from strength to strength. I have received literally hundreds of emails from both dog and cat owners and breeders thanking me for the site.

The site is now linked from many other sites on the web, and has featured in many breed newsletters, breeder information puppy packs, and has made it into several newspapers around the world.

Unfortunately, the story of Chickie the Golden Retriever is not as bad as one disaster litter that I had. I was going to use more examples, but I didn't think that people new to breeding would believe me. Many people have contacted me with ever worse stories than what I can imagine - and many of these are experienced breeders.

After repeated requests, I have agreed to continue the story with this breeder. In the next few weeks, I will put up the second installment. Hopefully, things will get better, but there are no promises in life as we all know.
