This is a great album and a lot of people
(especially those who never liked Queen until NATO) hate this album. I at first never liked it; in fact, at first
it made me puke! Then I sat down and
listened to it, it was great, the guitar, the harmonies, everything. I know a lot of long-time Queen fans will
agree with me on this one, this album alone defines what is pure Queen. Queen’s sound definitely evolved many times
after this, but it defines Queen by simply the diverse musical talents and
styles shown in this album. It also
defines Queen by saying that they were not going to sound like the rest of the
mainstream rockers of their time. This
album is highly recommended for someone new to Queen, it has sometimes been
defined as “progressive rock” or “alternative rock”. Almost every track is
great listening to; the only ones I can’t stand are The Night Comes Down and
Jesus because they just seem to go on and on and on and to tell you the truth,
they are not that “fun” to listen to.
