Prologue

“Its eggering, its eggering, the Sixer is finally eggering!!!” Those were common words you would hear in the “Eggery”. That’s the place where all the eggs are ‘eggered’. I’m not talking about bird eggs, or turtle eggs, I’m talking about Venesian (ve-ne-see-in) eggs.
They are the creatures who live on Venus. They have eggs, but their eggs don’t hatch, they ‘egger’, which is the process when they get out of they’re eggs; by tapping on the eggs in a certain beat (tap-tap tap tap tap-tap) and than the eggs turn from solid eggs to colored gas that the babies walk through. But now we’re not talking about that, we’re talking about the Eggery, where all this happens. All the workers came running to the egg. They saw the egg while it was eggering, all with the same tenseness and excitement in their minds. They were so excited their antennas were not only lighting up, but rapidly changing colors. This egg that they were seeing was a very important egg. It was the egg destined to bring the time machine written formula from Earth. With it, Venus would be able to make at least one time machine, and this egg was destined to bring the formula to the Venesian king.

chapter one

“Come on Amy, wake up!! Wake up, it is time for school, you don’t want to miss the bus again!”  Again? That was a dream, right?!??  Amy thought to herself. And no wonder she was so confused. After seeing a human coming out of a spaceship, saying things about her that she hadn’t even told Jessica, and then saying that he knew all of those things because he was an alien, and that she was too, who wouldn’t think it was a dream??  But, truthfully, it wasn’t. No matter what she told herself, she couldn’t deny her seeing it happen. Plus, the last time she remembered her dream was at least five years ago, where she had that dream about meeting an alien that came down from a space shuttle. But if it wasn’t a dream, then what was it???  It couldn’t be true. That was a fact. As much of a fact that the Earth was round and it was too hot to live on Venus.
So… she was sure it wasn’t a hallucination, and if it was, it was the first.  …Maybe this was all a dream too? That would explain it. Yes, she decided, and when I wake up, I’ll forget all about it! She decided that she might as well go along with her fantasy dream; after all, she couldn’t make herself wake up yet. So she ‘got up’ in the dream, and got dressed, and brushed her hair and teeth, and ate. But of course made sure not to go to the bathroom, she didn’t want to wet her real bed. This time, she caught the bus. Everyone around her was staring at her constant jumping. She really needed to go. But she held it in.
Finally, in school she met Jessica there, plain, normal Jessica, no weird dream effects. She didn’t mind. She noticed she had the same schedule too, Math, History, Science, Lunch, Gym, Art, Spanish and then Study hour/dismissal. It all passed pretty quickly, except for the constant need to go to the bathroom. When I’ll wake up, when I’ll wake up!  She kept telling herself. She came home, but again, she skipped her reading time in the bathroom, she wasn’t aloud to go. Instead she read in bed, her normal bed. In fact, the whole day was pretty normal, except for the part about the whole alien thing.
And she wasn’t waking up… She decided to wait a few more hours, after dinner…, take a shower…, read some more in bed… not go to the  bathroom… RUN INTO THE BATHROOM AND MAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She couldn’t help it. A) She needed to go.  B) She wouldn’t mind waking up about now… But she soon realized that she might not ever wake up, at least not from this dream, because-(could it be?)- it truly was not a dream…

?  ?  ?  ?  ?  ?  ?  ?  ?

“Amy. That’s a really cool story, you should write it down, but you should know by now that I’m not that gullible” Amy heard Jessica’s familiar voice over the phone “ I mean, you should enter that into a contest or something, about some thirteen year-old girl that discovers she’s an alien.  You know, I almost believed it”, she giggled “Can you believe that!” she ended. “Yeah, so I’ll think about writing it down, in the meantime, I’ll tell you about my updates” said Amy in a voice as cheerful and laughing as she could make it. ‘Click’ she hung up.
After all, how could she expect Jessica to believe she was saying the truth?? Jessica really wasn’t gullible, she was more like the opposite, and even if she was, she probably wouldn’t think it was true. Honestly, Amy herself didn’t quite believe it yet. Nothing that had happened to her had seemed alien; she hadn’t done anything alien either. So how could she be an alien? Well, I told Jessica I’ll update her, maybe I’ll just tell her what is happening, as if it’s all a story. Yeah, I’ll go to the computer right now…
Amy thought. She went to her desk. Hey, Matt, will you come here? I need help with the computer!! She called down the stairs. “Coming!” He yelled back. Amy heard the ‘thump, thump thump’ on the stairs and soon saw Matt’s face sticking through her door. “Whaddaya want?? He asked. “I need help, is there a way of locking a document, so that only I can get to it, with a password or something?” she asked the computer genius. Matt had built her computer for her, out of old parts.  “Sure, but how long d’you think it’ll take ‘till you for get the password?
My bet is, hmmm, maybe a nanosecond? That’s about how long it took for you to forget your AOL password, why do you need it anyways?? Who are you hiding your stuff from??” he answered. Leave it to him to not help me, and ask stupid dumb questions instead... not much help.  Never mind, fine, whatever. Can I borrow some money?? I promise I’ll pay you back… please?? I’ll give you an extra dollar? She asked him instead.
“Fine, but if you don’t pay me back, you’re in big trouble, got that??” he said as he gave her the money. Amy decided not to answer. She ran down the stairs, through the mudroom, into the garage and onto her bike. She opened the garage from her little clicker on the bike and went biking madly to the dollar store nearby, “Dollar Stuff”.  She needed to hurry or it’ll close. Just in time she thought.
She caught her breath and walked in, going to the journal section. She looked at all of the locked diaries. She finally picked one that had an alien standing on a red planet. Nearby was the sun. Probably Venus she thought to herself. She went to the cash register and bought two candies, one for her brother. With the new weight on her bike, she went home. “Here is your change, take these quarters and this Reese’s bar ‘k?” she told her brother. “Sure, thanks kiddo” Amy ignored the title and went to dinner. In bed she thought of the diary and what she would write in it. Clutching the key tightly, she fell asleep.
Chapter 2

The next day was Saturday, so Amy only woke up at ten thirty. And like most Saturdays, she had ‘brunch’ instead of breakfast. On the table were all of those light dairy things, bagels and cream cheese, toast with butter, chocolate chip waffles and pancakes, some chocolate milk or orange juice, and sometimes some doughnuts too. But today was not a doughnut day, so Amy had two waffles, a bagel with cream cheese, one tasty pancake, and some rich chocolate milk. That was good enough for her. She usually had about double that, but when she was in the middle of her pancake, she remembered her recent events, and ran to her room, with things more important then pancakes in her mind. Her mind went back to all of the events on the day of the discovery.
She had gone out of her house early that morning, because the day before she had gotten a note saying “Meet me at the park near the bus stop at 7:30” and she had assumed it was Jessica, so she came. On the bench she saw a man feeding pigeons, but she couldn’t find Jessica. Thinking to look in the trees, she looked upward, and she saw something a little bit more amazing then Jessica, the space ship.
It was really small, about the size of a portable boom box, and when it landed tiny creatures came out, about the size of mice. All of a sudden they started getting bigger and bigger, until they were the size of her mom. But size is as far as the similarity went; There were three there. One was blue, but its antennas were yellow and orange. Another was a pretty light-purple color, including the antennas, but it looked like someone had taken a paint brush and splattered an ugly yellow all over, and the ink had splattered him too, that effect where there are lines and dots in random places. But when she had taken a look the other one, she decided maybe not so random after all, because he was the same pattern, except the colors were red and green.
The first thought that came to her mind was “RUN!!!!!” but she was rooted to the spot, and couldn’t have if she really wanted to. Now she thought the aliens might have done that to her on purpose, but that wasn’t the point. SO she had stayed where she was, staring at them, while they did the same, sizing her up. Suddenly one of them spoke. “Are you Amy James??, the one who was adopted to the Monroe family???” he blurted out, ending it as a question.
