SEASON ONE
:: Meet the Racers ::
Words from Host:

Despite having hosted many other type of games, I've never tried a real-time based game such as this. It was my first time hosting Virtual-The Amazing Race and having spent one and a half month creating this race.

From doing the race course to casting the Racers, it had been a lot of hard work. It started out with just brainstorming the number of Racers, the name of the game and how the game should flow. Then I looked for websites which I can use for my clues and tasks. Having to change them a couple of times, I finally got the rough outline only two weeks before the actual race. During the two weeks, I had to create the pages, design the envelopes, editing HTML to learning how to create Java scripts and such. With many help from my friends as the Beta Tester and having the use of
Commontown chatroom and server, the race was successful on the whole.

In the very first season, we've got Racers committing mistakes right from the start, quickly learn from them as well as a very unexpected problem (Exceeding server bandwidth!) and of course, alliances! Racers were facing a variety of techinical errors and having heart pounding events taking place all the time!

I hope the second season will be a much more spectacular race!

Host,
Shieh
Interview with the winner

Host: CONGRATS! i need a little interview now
Describe the race in one word
Scout:heart-attack-inducing or heartstopping then

Host: Was there any strategy involved? Made any alliances?
Scout:um....my Group C alliance
i could not have won without Hazri's help in the first leg and we had tata but unfortunately he was unable to join us

Host:So what do you think of the race? The clues and tasks
Scout:they were really well done, congrats on that. i was scared i'd lose early on because of my limited net access only 20 mins at a time having to reconnect fortunately it usually happened at a pitstop or wait i DID try to keep net time, but that's another story *phew!* heart s back at regular pace

Host:What do you think of other Racers? Were they competitive?
Scout: definitely - i mean, i was scared i'd go first and hazri helped me big time (big thanks!) and i tried to help him in return but, with my comp going offline so much i didn't really see in the chat room too often
but i am thankful for the gyuudon that i think tatda2 gave me last week whenever i looked in the chat room my net had gone so i had to refresh and missed most of the conversations

Host: Any tips for Racers next season?
Scout:um.... keep LOTS of net time. As in, being able to access the internet be prepared to be up late (it's 12.50pm in Melbourne right now) have lots of water next to you don't be stressed and make friends with the people in your first group because sometimes you really need help like i did, and hazri came to my rescue lol

Host:Okay, any final words?
Scout:definitely try it! no matter if you haven't seen the show or are not too good with the internet, try it because you'll have a blast regardless of where u come and thanks shieh for a great game you are brilliant Shieh!
Thank you

And our interview with Hazri

Hazri, you are Racer number... 2! congrats~ Scout is our Winner Now I hope to interview you
Describe the race in one word
Hazri: adrenaline

Any strategy that you took? Alliances?
Hazriyes, was to go as fast as i could, lock doors for anti-disturbances, and scout, my best bud in the race, whom was in Team C, the best team ever, made an alliance and i helped him earlier, and now he helped me we're just glad to make top 2

Any tips for Racers in the next season?
Hazri: Alliances are so important. you'll never know when one might save you from elimination

What do you think of the other Racers? Are they competitive?
Hazri: yep, i thought tobias and nickel were going to win because they also had an alliance, but in the end it was Team C who had a stronger and faster alliance
Thank you
