Important Differences
Between the Coming
of Jesus Christ
& Satan

 Introduction

The soon return of Jesus Christ has been the hope and longing of people for
many long, dark centuries. The Scriptures tell us:

And... while they (Jesus' disciples) beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud
received him out of their sight. And while they looked stedfastly toward
heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven?
This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come
in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

Acts 1:9-11

The word of God says clearly that Jesus will return, and we can be sure that it
will occur just as God has said, though the event seems, at times, to have been delayed.
There is a reason for this, however:

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness;
but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that
all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief
in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and
the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that
are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be
dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation
and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God,
wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall
melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for
new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness
.
2 Peter 3:9-13

But, before the end of the world, Satan also will make an appearance claiming
to be Jesus. It is his desire to confuse and deceive people before the Savior
arrives. With great brightness and beauty, speaking words similar to those
our Lord spoke when he was here on earth, and working deception-enhancing
miracles, Satan plans to capture the hearts of many, and cause them to fight
against Christ when He comes.

It will almost be the Devil's last stand (there's one more to follow;
See Revelation 20); but it will clearly be a sign that his final end is near.

The Scriptures state:

...believe not every spirit, but try the spirits
whether they are of God:
because many false prophets
are gone out into the world
.
1 John 4:1

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
1 Thessalonians 5:21

In order to avoid deception and know the difference between the return of
Jesus, and Satan's appearance, the word of God needs to be studied thoroughly,
and be clearly understood with the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

The Apostle Paul's concern about deceptions in his day exist also now:

...I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve
through his subtilty, so your minds
should be corrupted from the simplicity
that is in Christ.
2 Corinthians 11:3

And Jesus had earlier spoken:

...If ye continue in my word,
then are ye my disciples indeed;
And ye shall know the truth,
and the truth shall make you free.
John 8:31, 32

Part 1 - Jesus' Coming Outlined

1. When Jesus comes, He won't touch the earth.

And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a
cloud received him out of their sight.
And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men
stood by them in white apparel;
Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same
Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye

Acts 1:9-11

(Next verse) (Back to outline)

But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are
asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in
Jesus will God bring with him.
For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and
remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of
the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the
clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
2 Thessalonians 4:13-18

(Back to outline)

2. Jesus won't be returning to prove to people that He is the long-awaited Messiah.

...it is certain that Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many and after that,
to those who look for Him, he will appear a second time, not this time to deal with sin,
but to bring full salvation those who eagerly await Him.
Hebrews 9:28 (Phillips Translation)

(Next verse) (Back to outline)

And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed
from heaven with his mighty angels,
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not
the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord,
and from the glory of his power; When he shall come to be glorified in his saints,
and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was
believed) in that day.
2 Thessalonians 1: 7-10

(Back to outline)

3. When Jesus comes He will raise the dead to life, and translate the living who
are faithful to meet Him in the air.

Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall
sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
1 Corinthians 15:51, 52

(Next verse) (Back to outline)

But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are
asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in
Jesus will God bring with him.
For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and

Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

(Back to outline)

4. When Jesus comes He is coming to destroy the wicked, and take the faithful
to heaven.

And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the
Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.
And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that
sat on the cloud,
Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap;
for the harvest of the earth is ripe.
And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was
reaped...
And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth,
and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God.
Revelation 14: 14-16, 19

(Next verse) (Back to outline)

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you.
I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto
myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
John 14:1-3

(Next verse) (Back to outline)

And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was
called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns;
and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called
The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him
upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations:
and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the
fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS,
AND LORD OF LORDS.
Revelation 19: 11-16

(Back to outline)

5. When Jesus comes, He doesn't prounounce His blessing upon those who have
the mark of the beast and worship his image (the disobedient).

And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was
called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a
name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called
The Word of God.
And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in
fine linen, white and clean.
And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to
all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together
unto the supper of the great God; That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh
of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that
sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.
And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together
to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles
before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast,
and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire
burning with brimstone.
And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which
sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.
Revelation 19:11-21

(Next verse) (Back to outline)

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of
heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name?
and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work
iniquity.
Matthew 7:21-23

(Back to outline)

6. When Jesus comes, the heavens and earth will move at the sound of His voice.

And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together;
and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief
captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid
themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of
him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
Revelation 6: 14-17

(Next verse) (Back to outline)

The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the
wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds
are the dust of his feet. He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all
the rivers: Bashan languisheth, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon languisheth.
The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his
presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein.Who can stand before his
indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured
out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.
Nahum 1:3-6

(Next verse) (Back to outline)

I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens,
and they had no light. I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the
hills moved lightly. I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the
heavens were fled. I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all
the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his
fierce anger. For thus hath the LORD said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet
will I not make a full end. For this shall the earth mourn, and the heavens above be
black: because I have spoken it, I have purposed it, and will not repent, neither will
I turn back from it.
Jeremiah 4:23-28

(Next verse) (Back to outline)

Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and
were shaken, because he was wroth. There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and
fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it. He bowed the heavens also,
and came down: and darkness was under his feet. And he rode upon a cherub, and did
fly: yea, he did fly upon the wings of the wind. He made darkness his secret place; his
pavilion round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies. At the brightness
that was before him his thick clouds passed, hail stones and coals of fire.
The LORD also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail stones
and coals of fire. Yea, he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out
lightnings, and discomfited them. Then the channels of waters were seen, and the
foundations of the world were discovered at thy rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of
the breath of thy nostrils.
Psalms 18:7-15

(Back to outline)

7. When Jesus comes, every eye will see Him.

And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon
the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are
coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads;
for your redemption draweth nigh.
Luke 21: 25-28

(Next verse) (Back to outline)

And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the
dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed
us from our sins in his own blood, And hath made us kings and priests unto God
and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which
pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so,
Amen.
Revelation 1: 5-7

(Back to outline)

8. When Jesus comes, we will see the marks of His humiliation and crucifixion.

God came from Teman, and the Holy One from mount Paran. Selah. His glory covered
the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise.
And his brightness was as the light; he had horns coming out of his hand: and
there was the hiding of his power.
Before him went the pestilence, and burning coals went forth at his feet.
He stood, and measured the earth: he beheld, and drove asunder the nations; and
the everlasting mountains were scattered, the perpetual hills did bow: his ways
are everlasting.
Habakkuk 3:3-6

And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall
answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.

Zechariah 13:6

9. When Jesus comes, He won't be telling His people that He changed His Law and
the seventh day Sabbath; and threaten to destroy all who keep it as God's day of
worship.

Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy,
but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle
shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Matthew 5:17, 18

10. When Jesus comes He will come with the full glory of God, the Father,

For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then
he shall reward every man according to his works.
Matthew 16:27

Luke 21: 25-27

(Next verse) (Back to outline)

And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the
tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds
of heaven with power and great glory.
And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together
his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
Matthew 24: 30, 31

(Next verse) (Back to outline)

For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of
man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's,
and of the holy angels.
Luke 9:26

Part 2 - Satan's coming (appearance) outlined

1. When Satan comes, he appears in various places, and walk around, on the earth.

Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs
and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
Behold, I have told you before.
Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth:
behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
Matthew 24: 23-26

(Next verse) (Back to outline)

Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the
LORD, and Satan came also among them.
And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the
LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and
down in it.
Job 1: 6, 7

(Next verse) (Back to outline)

Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before
the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.
And the LORD said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered
the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up
and down in it.
Job 2:1, 2

(Next verse) (Back to outline)

Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him
all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and
worship me.
Matthew 4: 8, 9

(Back to outline)

2. When Satan comes he will put forth efforts to prove to people that he is Jesus,
the long awaited Messiah.

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the
apostles of Christ.
And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of
righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
2 Corinthians 11: 13-15

(Next verse) (Back to outline)

But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than
that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto
you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
Galatians 1:8, 9

(Next verse) (Back to outline)

And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you:
For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
Mark 13: 5, 6

(Next verse) (Back to outline)

Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there
come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is
worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that
he is God.
Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let,
until he be taken out of the way.
And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the
spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs
and lying wonders,
And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they
received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
2 Thessalonians 2: 3-10

(Next verse) (Back to outline)

That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit,
nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand...
Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is
worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself
that he is God...
And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with
the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and
signs and lying wonders...
2 Thessalonians 2:2-4, 8, 9

(Next verse) (Back to outline)

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart
from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils...
1 Timothy 4:1

(Back to outline)

3. When Satan comes, he will not raise the dead to life or translate any human
beings anywhere; but through deception he will make it appear that dead loved
ones and friends have come back to life.

And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan,
which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels
were cast out with him.
Revelation 12:9

(Next verse) (Back to outline)

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead
shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in
himself;
And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of
man.
Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves
shall hear his voice,
And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and
they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
John 5: 25-29

4. When Satan comes, he is coming to destroy the righteous, not to take anyone to heaven.

Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth
and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth
that he hath but a short time.
Revelation 12:12

(Next verse) (Back to outline)

In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth
not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
1 John 3:10, 11

5. When Satan comes, he will prounounce his blessing upon those who have the
mark of the beast and worship his image (the disobedient that God has cursed).

And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan,
which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels
were cast out with him.
Revelation 12:9

(Next verse) (Back to outline)

And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear,
and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and
great authority.
And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed:
and all the world wondered after the beast.
And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast,
saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
Revelation 13:2-4

(Next verse) (Back to outline)

And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon,
and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings
of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day
of God Almighty.
Revelation 16:13, 14

(Next verse) (Back to outline)

And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship
the beast and his image, and receive[his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out
without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire
and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have
no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth
the mark of his name.
Revelation 14:9-11

(Next verse) (Back to outline)

And will ye pollute me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of
bread, to slay the souls that should not die, and to save the souls alive that should
not live, by your lying to my people that hear your lies?...
Therefore ye shall see no more vanity, nor divine divinations: for I will deliver
my people out of your hand: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
Ezekiel 13: 19, 23

For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon
them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
1 Thessalonians 5:3

Thou [Lucifer] shalt not be joined with them in burial, because
thou hast destroyed thy land, and slain thy people:
the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned.
Isaiah 14:20

6. There is no indication in the Scriptures (except symbolically) that when Satan comes,
the heavens and earth will move, or part, at the sound of his voice, as they will do when
Jesus comes again.

How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down
to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!...
They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying,
Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;
That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof...
Isaiah 14:12, 16, 17

7. When Satan comes, every eye will not see him as is the case when Jesus comes.

The Scriptures indicate that people will hear that false messiahs have come and
will be drawn where they are.

Jesus said, Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there;
believe it not.

And as he [Jesus] sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him
privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign
of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
Matthew 24: 3-5

the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God

Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments,
lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue
Armageddon.
Revelation 16: 13-16

8. When Satan comes, there will not be seen any scars from a crucifixion because
he was never crucified.

9. When Satan comes pretending to be Christ, he will tell the people that he
changed God's law; and that Sunday, the first day of the week, not Saturday,
seventh day of the week (as God said in His Commandments), is now the Sabbath
to be observed. He will also threaten some, and encourage others, to destroy all
who keep the seventh day Sabbath as God's holy day of worship. God's people
will not accept this new teaching; but the disobedient will.

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do.
He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because
there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own:
for he is a liar, and the father of it.
John 8:44

which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels

And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman
which brought forth the man child...
And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war
with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God,
and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Revelation 12: 9, 13, 17

10. When Satan comes he will come with a brightness and glory mankind has never seen

And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
2 Corinthians 11:14

Note Satan's description (symbolized in Scripture by the King of Tyrus), before
his fall from heaven, and at last his final end:

Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him,
Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.
Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering,
the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire,
the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes
was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon
the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with
violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God:
and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.
Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom
by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings,
that they may behold thee.
Ezekiel 28: 12-17
