"I am holding you in my arms every step of the way as I have for all eternity. It is necessary, now, to collect and examine some of the hidden parts of self…to reacquaint oneself with the whole of one's being. Heaven awaits those who are willing to accept that which heaven is...all of it. And so, we come to speak of what many have termed as the "shadow" self. This integral part of the composition of all beings is highly undervalued and many times feared. It is only the act of fully embracing this aspect that allows one to become fully realized in form.

So, we come to the topic of the shadow, that of the formless. Traditionally, this has been associated with darkness and destruction. And, though it can function as a "destructive" force, it always paves the way for new growth by deconstructing previous ways of being. Most times, however, the agent of shadow (he who catalyzes/causes the event/action of destruction) is not aware that they are be used by Divinity as an instrument of balance. Yet, this is always the case. This is the very reason for so many religious wars and, how one can truly feel that God has personally instructed them to destroy others. There is a force, which, just like the cells and conditions within the human form that seek out and destroy that which is out of balance, will destroy as a means of creating balance.

Always this world has had its judgments, its polarity thinking. Do away with this thinking for, with it, what you shall have is more polarity. Judgments (not discernments) of any kind keep conflict alive and well. The conflict you see without is a reflection of those parts of self that are judging you from within. Even "good" in it's conclusiveness makes something else bad. As one evolves the need for these labels becomes less important. Hold holy all things and you yourself shall be made holy. For, in so doing, you shall then find yourself in the presence of the Divine and truly know your own Divinity. All is well, no matter what your mind may tell you about how things appear. Remember this. All is well. All is well."

As I transcribed this message, I felt my own resistance and some fear arise. I was surprised to find myself challenged by a message I was well acquainted with... intellectually. It showed me how parts (albeit unconscious parts) of me were still invested in "victim" consciousness. To see everything as Divine, even Shadow aspects of myself and others, takes quite a bit of evolution. This meant that I would have to re-evaluate not only myself, but the God/Goddess/All-That-Is and my relationship to it. No small task.

If you are like me (and most people on the planet), from the moment you took your first breath you were sold an anthropomorphic God. It seems our human minds have traditionally been more comfortable with a God that had human qualities, namely compassion, love, and sometimes vengeance (for the those of us who need a punishing God!). This is just the ego's way of trying to maintain the greatest of illusions...that of control. For if we convince ourselves that God is made in our image (instead of the other way around), we will feel less powerless when it comes to affairs of the universe and our lives.

The truth is we and everything in creation are made in God's image….every aspect of us. And, yes, that includes all those parts of you or anyone else from which you've been withholding love. The God/ Goddess/ All-That-Is makes up all you see before you. To deny the Divinity of any aspect of this world is to close ourselves off from the Oneness. If conscious union with the Oneness is what you seek, then loving allowance and acceptance is the key. For even the aspects of ourselves and others which we label "destructive" are also Divine and always all born of a need for balance. By practicing loving detachment (offering no resistance or judgment) towards all things, we open to unimpeded, intrinsic, change. And, though it may be scary to embrace and honor parts of this shadow self, it is truly the only path to peace...inside and out.
